Hi, when using the X708, please use a 3.7V lithium polymer battery, or a battery with sufficient discharge capacity, otherwise the X708 will automatically cut off when used at high loads.
Hello, whether the X708 can be used on the Raspberry Pi 5, we have not tested it, and we are currently accelerating the design of Raspberry Pi 5 related products, which are expected to be on the shelves of our store soon, please pay attention to our product updates
Hi, is it possible to change out the fan on this board for another 30mm fan or 40mm with an adapter? I would like to use a full silent fan solution but I want to make sure that replacing the fan is possible. I assume the fan is 5V?
Hi
I tried to connect battery low led to external PH2.0 connector but it seems like it does not light up when battery low blinks on the board and when i run continuity test on that connector (when board is off) there is a short between pins 2 and 3 to ground.
I have X708 v2.0, is this my board's fault or schematic has changed for external power switch? It seems like it was reworked to adapt for 4 pin momentary switch with led light (so pins go like this power on/gnd/gnd/power led)
Hello, according to your statement, we are not sure whether it is related to your above problem. We suggest that you remove the X708 and test again to see if the above problem still exists. If there is still a problem, please provide your order number. If possible, you can provide some pictures (about your question), preferably a video, and send it to our email. Please contact us at support@geekworm.com. We will try our best to help you solve the problem.)
What is the total idle/quiescent current draw from the battery to the X708, when the X708 is switched on (not in sleep mode), but there is only a very small current (a few uA) drawn on the output?
In other words, what is the X708 battery current just for it to be switched on?
Your specs say the max output current is 6A, and the max charging current is 4A. But on the datasheet for the IP5310 which is shown on the X708 PCB, the max output current is 3.1A and max charging current is 3A...
So, which is the correct specification? 6A out and 4A in, or 3.1A out and 3A in?
Also, if 6A and 4A is correct, how did you manage that if it is more than what the IP5310 can provide?
After some testing I can say it do not charge battery at all. External power supply is connected, LED flashing, but there is no 4.2V on battery pins, only current battery voltage (according charged level). I use 18650 Li-ion battery in x728
What parameters does the 3010 cooling fan have? Installed by you does the job, but it is loud. Can I replace it with a quieter one? If so, I need information, voltage V, current A, power consumption Watt.
Hello,We don't recommend that. If you want to use four batteries or more, we recommend connecting the X708-A1 18650 Battery holder, which can support up to 8 batteries.
The battery picture is wrong,
it states to use battery with buildin pcm or pcb (protection circuit module/board)
but the battery may not be longer the 65,3...
the 67mm are the only ones with pcm / pcb, that whats the button on top is for.
there are no batterys with pcm/pcb at the length of 65,3.
Hi dear , sorry for the mistakes ,In fact ,It doesn't matter whether the battery has a protection circuit or not, the most important thing is that the size of the battery can fit the battery holder.
FWIW, I'm using a married set of LG HG2s (married here just means that they've always been used together, never as individual cells; it's likely unimportant here, as the power draw is minimal). These are unprotected, high-capacity, high-drain LiON batteries that can be had at places like IMRbatteries dot com for a few bucks a pop. Highly recommended.
It is a shame that the software for the X708 does not appear to be working.
I have posted questions on https://rasp...708-Software and my question is being ignored.
The command 'x728off' does not do anythng. The command line reply is 'X728 Shutting down', but nothing happens.
It definitely works. I just received mine last couple of days. You must have missed an enabling step, also be sure that you have power connected to x708 and not the PI directly.
1. Enable i2c
2. Reboot
3. clone x728 project from github
4. Open x728.sh and comment out first four lines
5. Install the x728 features/scripts

Hi dear ,The X708 can turn on/off fan from software but cann't control fan speed,By the way ,There are many Raspberry Pi fans exchange experiences on our official website, you are welcome to join us https://geek...munity/forum
Hi dear ,tks for your message ,

2.It can fit the N300 case?
3. I2C address can not changeable?

I have not found any 18650 Lithium ion batteries with a safety circuit that are 65.3 mm long. All of the 18650 type batteries with a safety circuit are 68-69 mm long. Comments??
