Just purchased and discovered the mess with the screws... SHAME ON YOU! people are complaining about this since a month and you still sell this kit with wrong screws! Please provide detailed specs on what screws should I buy now. I can't wait for sending back the item and search for an alternative!
Hi,Sorry for the inconvenience, could you tell us your order number? Where did you buy it? It may be a problem with the mounting holes of the X1002 board. Please contact us via email and we will provide a solution. support@geekworm.com
I had to drill out the holes in the standoffs on the board to get the screws through the raspi and the X1002...used the brass nuts to secure the screws on the X1002 side. Worked and X1002 functions.
Found a solution to my XPG SSD not installing... From terminal I ran: sudo rpi-eeprom-config -e Added PCIE_PROBE=1 to the end of the file, saved file, rebooted. Blue light now on on X1002 and drive recognised by Pi.

Whoops. Replied to wrong post.
But in answer to your question...Yes, the X1002 supports 3.0, though Pi doesn't officially support more than 2.0. Its a matter of trying your SSD at 3.0 and seeing if its stable.
Kingston NV2 M.2 1TB works fine for me. Not sure what "Gen" is it. Received today X1002 and migrated everything on SSD and made it bootable without an issue. If you are struggled with driver not recognized in "lspci" check if you made everything right in "/boot/configuration.txt" by enabling PCIe port.
